Preceptorship is both an opportunity and a professional challenge that requires a broad range of talents and skills to survive. Precepting demands time, caring and enthusiasm and is typically a role that is added to an already full load of responsibilities. This session focuses on practical approaches to precepting and on the role of experienced health professionals in enhancing the skills of new colleagues. Whether you are an experienced or novice preceptor, you will come away with assessment and evaluation tools, and creative techniques to add to your professional skill set. Conference methods include lecture, discussion, interactive participation and small group work.
